Campbellsport Softball Finishes Regular Season with a Winning Record

On May 22, Campbellsport softball beat Random Lake 5-4 for their tenth win in their last 15 games, after starting the season with a record of 2-6, to finish the regular season with a winning record of 12-11. Campbellsport (12-11) got on the scoreboard first in the non-conference matchup on the road at Random Lake (13-5) in the top of the fourth inning when Mackenzie Helsell drove in the first run with a single.

Campbellsport Baseball Clinches Flyway Conference Championship

On May 22, Campbellsport baseball defeated WLA 7-0 to clinch a share of the Flyway Conference Championship for the first time since 2022. Campbellsport (17-7, 11-3) had two outs against them, facing WLA (12-10, 7-7), in the first inning when Riley Kohlmann hit a single to right field to take a 1-0 lead. The Cougars got the bases loaded in the inning, which resulted in Ben Sabish and R. Kohlmann scoring runs to give Campbellsport a 3-0 lead after one inning.

Campbellsport Girls Soccer Gets Win Against Lions Amidst Weather Delays

On May 16, the soccer match featuring the Cougars and Lions was delayed by 45 minutes due to a severe thunderstorm warning. Campbellsport got goals from Olyvia Haynes, Addie Kohlman, and Ireland Stahmann in the span of 13 minutes to take a 3-0 halftime lead over Lomira. The Cougars secured the 3-0 conference victory after the game was called shortly in the second half due to lightning and storms in the area.

Campbellsport Baseball Gets One Step Closer to Flyway Conference Title

Campbellsport’s (16-5, 10-2) offense took control of the game in the first inning by scoring five runs against NFDL (6-11, 2-10), started by a Jace Goebel double, then followed by a Brody Nolan double to right to drive in Goebel. A Braden Bothe RBI single gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead while there were two outs. The Cougars got back-to-back RBI doubles from Cullen Reis and Gage Kohlmann, which was followed by a single from Zach Zimdahl to drive in the final run to put the score at 5-0 after one inning.

Campbellsport Softball Continues Their Winning Ways with Three Wins

On May 19, Campbellsport softball beat NFDL 4-2 for their 11th win of the softball season. Campbellsport (11-11, 6-7) scored two runs in the first inning thanks to an Olivia McCarty RBI single and Peyton Hall’s Sac Fly to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead over NFDL (4-13, 3-11).

The Campbellsport girls’ team won the first girls team track conference championship in school history with 168.5, and the boys’ won the boys team track championship in back-to-back years with 157 points. The Cougars’s girls’ team was led by their conference champions of Lydia Toshner (female athlete of the meet) in the 100mh (4-time champ), 300mh (4-time champ), and triple jump, Brooke Flegner in the long jump, Sienna Hewitt in the pole vault, and Capri Constantineau in the 400m. The 4x400 Relay of Nicole Gena, Kameron Rohlfs, Layla Voss, and Constantineau rounded out the conference champions on the girls' team. Campbellsport boys’ team was paced by Garrett Pickering in the 3200m and Emmett Gonnering in the discus as individual conference champions for the Cougars.

On May 7, Campbellsport softball defeated Springs 5-1 in a rescheduled game from May 1 between the two Flyway conference teams. Campbellsport (8-10, 4-7) jumped ahead of Springs (12-7, 7-4) in the third inning with Josie Twohig and Peyton Hall hitting singles before the Ledgers got two outs against the Cougars. Emma Batzler hit a single to right to drive in two runs to take an early 2-0 lead over Springs.

Campbellsport Baseball Earns Two-Game Sweep Over Foxes

On May 8, Campbellsport baseball defeated Omro 7-1 on the road to sweep the season series between the two teams. Campbellsport (14-5, 8-2) was able to score the first, thanks to back-to-back doubles by Kyler Bowe and Jace Goebel, with Bowe scoring on Goebel’s double to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning over Omro (6-9, 1-8). The Cougars’ offense showed off their hitting prowess, scoring five runs in the fourth inning, starting with an RBI double from Zach Zimdahl and followed by RBI singles from Trent Schladweiler, Brody Nolan, and Goebel to push their lead to 6-0 over the Foxes.

Campbellsport Track has Impressive Day in Waupun

On May 10, the Campbellsport boys and girls track teams traveled to Waupun to compete in the Warrior Invitational. The Cougars girls’ team finished in second place with 152 points, and the boys’ team finished in first place with an impressive total of 211 points. Second-place finishes by Lydia Toshner in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and triple jump; Brooke Flegner in the 200m and long jump; Lexi Diels in the discus; Eva Pendowski in the 1600m; Ireland O’Laughin-Posey in the 100m; and Capri Constantineau in the 400m paved the way for the Campbellsport girls’ team at the meet.

Nolan broke Rocky Martiney’s school record of 1:57.9 set in 1973 in the 800m with his seventh-place finish in a time of 1:56.48 for Campbellsport at the Night meet. Lydia Toshner broke Laura Oechsner’s school record of 12.90 set in 1995 in the 100m with her first-place finish in a time of 12.82.
