Kewaskum Earns Back-to-Back Wins over Ripon

Posted

The Indians (13-4, 7-1) scored early and often en route to a 11-0 victory in five innings over the visiting Ripon Tigers (3-16, 3-7).
Kewaskum got on the board first, batting through the lineup, scoring five runs after a two-RBI single by Everett Donath, an RBI single by Levi Whitfield, an RBI fielder’s choice by Sam Ciriacks, and an RBI single by Carter Unger.
After Cooper Petermann shut the Tigers down in the top of the second (3IP, 2H, 2BB, 2K), Austin Reichel delivered an RBI triple to right center scoring one run.
The bottom of the third was much like the first inning as the Indians put up another five spot thanks to an error that scored a run, followed by Andrew Reichert, Reichel, and Everett Donath all delivering RBI singles to extend the lead to 11-0.
Kyle Haim shut the door on the Tigers in the final two innings, allowing a pair of hits while walking and striking out one.

Reichert led the offensive attack with three hits and a pair of RBIs, while Donath and Reichel both had multi-hit days for the Indians.
Kewaskum is tied for first in the East Central Conference with KML at 7-1. This week, they played Berlin at home on Tuesday. Then they will travel to Berlin on Thursday, May 15, come home on Friday, May 16 to play West Allis Central, and on Saturday, May 17 they will go to Cedarburg. Thursday and Fridays games start at 4:45 p.m. Saturday will start at 11 a.m.

At Ripon
Kewaskum (12-4, 6-1) traveled to Ripon (3-15, 3-6) and defeated the Tigers 8-1 on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.
The Indians broke the game open with five runs in the second inning thanks to a two-RBI single by Karter Fell. With two outs in the inning, Kingston Grisolono doubled to left center to score two more. The final run of the frame came with Reichel reaching first base on an error.

A Grisolono RBI single in the fourth, along with Donath reaching by error, allowed the Indians to score two more for a 7-0 lead.
The final run came in the top of the sixth inning when Grisolono hit his third home run of the year over the fence in center field.
Carter Unger got the victory on the mound (3IP, 1H, 2BB, 5K) while Cole Loser (3.1IP, 5H, 1ER, 6K) and Tyler Stray (0.2IP, 1K) pitched great in relief for the Indians.

At Waupun
Everett Donath collected four hits in five at-bats to help lead the Indians (11-4, 5-1) to a 9-1 road victory over the Waupun Warriors (15-3, 6-2).

Waupun scored first with an RBI double in the second inning but that was all they would get while starter Kingston Grisolono (5IP, 2H, 0ER, 8K) and Tyler Stray (2IP, 2K) combined for a two-hit performance on the mound.
The Indians would tie the game in the top of third inning after Grisolono singled home Liam Stoffel. Following a two-out Donath single, Levi Whitfield reached on an error that scored two more and gave Kewaskum the lead for good.
Kewaskum was able to tack on one more run in the fourth with an RBI fielder’s choice.
The 4-1 score held true until the sixth inning when Grisolono singled, Austin Reichel walked, and another Donath single loaded the bases for Levi Whitfield who smashed a triple over the centerfielder’s head to clear the bases. The very next batter, Sam Ciriacks, hit a sacrifice fly to score Whitfield.
The Indians piled up 14 hits, led by Donath with four hits, Andrew Reichert with three hits and Grisolono with two.
