The Kewskum girls’ volleyball team competed against Port Washington for their homecoming game on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in a conference match.
Kewaskum took the first set with a close 25-20 win. They came up short against Port Washington during the second set with a loss, 21-25. The girls worked hard during the third set, but ended up losing 13-25. They turned it around in the fourth set with a close 25-23 win. They took this momentum into the fifth set but struggled and the match ended in a loss with the final set landing at 7-15.
Junior libero Morgan Vetter celebrated a career milestone of 1,000 digs during the first set of the match.
Kewskum’s match against Port Washington put them at an 11-12 season record and a 3-2 conference record.
Kewaskum faced Laconia on Monday, Oct. 6. The teams were proving to be an equal match during the first two sets with the first set turning out to be a loss for Kewaskum 25-27. The team fought hard and was able to win the second set 26-24. Laconia secured a win for the third set ending at 25-22. Laconia pulled ahead in the fourth set with a final score of 25-18. The overall match score for the Indians’ was 1-3.
The Kewaskum girls’ volleyball team has an overall record of 12-15 and a conference record of 3-2. They played Campbellsport at home, after print time, on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
