Kewaskum’s Beimborn Medals Again in Waukesha

Posted

The Trail Sharks’ NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) fall race season continued on September 14 at Minooka Park in Waukesha with the second race of five.
The cool Sunday morning greeted the athletes with dense fog at the park, causing the race course to be a bit more challenging with slippery rocks and roots. As the day went on the fog lifted and the athletes now had to deal with rising temperatures that rose to the mid-70s.
The course is known for its large hill near the start of the race, and it quickly spreads out the riders from the mass start. The course length varied depending on the category, but each had a good mix of double track, single track, rock gardens and other technical features.
Of the 600+ registered athletes for this race, the Washington County Trail Shark Mountain Bike Team had 30 student-athletes that participated and had four athletes take the podium: Gracelyn Beimborn, who placed third, Shealyn Jablonski, Jaiden Schumacher and Alexander Seboe.
In addition to Beimborn, from Kewaskum, Ephraim Essinger placed 16th, and John Rank placed 15th.
The next race will be held at Englewood Grass Farm in Fall River on September 28.
