Kewaskum Varsity Volleyball will have a New Coach for 2025 Season

Posted

Colleen Hasse will be the new head coach of the Kewaskum girls’ varsity volleyball program. A seasoned and accomplished coach, Hasse brings more than two decades of experience and a proven record of success at the high school and club levels.
Hasse began her high school coaching career in the fall of 2000 and has since established herself as a respected figure in Wisconsin volleyball. As a former collegiate athlete, she played as a setter and defensive specialist at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where her team appeared in two NCAA Division III tournaments in 1997 and 1998.
In 2002, Hasse took over the head coaching role at West Bend East High School, where she held the role for 17 seasons. During her tenure, the team won five conference championships and consistently placed in the top three of the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference. In 2007, she led the team to a runner-up finish at the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament.
Following her success at West Bend East, Hasse spent three years at Slinger High School. There, she continued her tradition of excellence by helping the team capture its first North Shore Conference title in 2019, which was their first conference title since 1992.
Currently, Hasse also coaches with the Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club in Menomonee Falls. She has worked with both youth and high school athletes to sharpen skills and foster a love for the game.

“I am very excited to be back coaching in the high school scene,” said Hasse. “What drew me to Kewaskum was their continued success in the conferences they’ve competed in. With the development of a new conference, I thought this was a great time to step in and help with the transition.”
Hasse has already taken notice of the work ethic and enthusiasm of the players.
“I’m excited to see the drive these girls have. During open gym, they’ve been showing up ready to work, and that’s exactly the kind of energy a program needs to build on.”
Hasse’s coaching philosophy focuses on making the girls not only better players, but also helping them learn skills they will need off the court.
“As a high school coach, I have always believed that the court is an extension of the classroom for athletes. This is another place for them to develop skills that can be used in life after high school. The athletes will be asked to come in every day and work on becoming better than the day before, both with volleyball skills and being good teammates.”
The Kewaskum volleyball team will kick off their season on August 26 with a scrimmage against West Bend West at West Bend West High School.
