On September 30, the Campbellsport boys’ cross country team finished in third place with 97 points, and the girls finished in 12th place with 290 points at the Portage Invitational.
“The Campbellsport boys finished in a tie for second, but were awarded third place because when teams tie in cross country, the sixth runner is used to break the tie, and in this case Sauk Prairie’s sixth runner finished higher than the Cougars’ sixth, so they were awarded second place, and we were given third place,” said Head Coach Mike Kulibert. “The Cougars had three runners in the top ten, with Garrett Pickering taking second place and Caleb Siebauer finishing in sixth, plus Mason Dirmeier finishing in eighth place.”
“Izzy ran a career-best time with Genna and Ava running their best times of the season,” said Kulibert.
Campbellsport cross country will host their cross country meet on October 9 at 4 p.m.
