The Campbellsport cross country team participated in the Waupaca Sectional last Friday, October 25. The meet was held at Waupaca High School on a challenging and hilly 5,000 meter course.

With the low score of 72 points, the Campbellsport boys earned a trip to the State Meet in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, November 2. Watertown Luther Prep finished in second place with 94 points and will join the Cougars in Wisconsin Rapids.

It will be the second year in a row that the Cougars will participate at State as a team. Last year, the group was runner-up at the Portage Sectional and went on to place 15th at the State Meet.

Logan and Brody Nolan will be making their third trip to State. It will be the second time for Garrett Pickering and Sawyer Dirmeier. Caleb Siebauer, Gavin Pickering, and Trent Dieckman will be experiencing the big event for the first time.

In the girls’ race, Watertown Luther Prep (65 points) and Berlin (74 points) earned a trip to the State Meet. The Campbellsport girls finished in 13th place.

The Cougars closed out their season on a positive note.
