On October 9, Campbellsport football defeated Omro 35-0 in their Flyway Conference matchup on their homecoming and senior night.
Omro (1-7, 1-5) got the ball at Campbellsport's (4-4, 4-2) 45-yard line to start the game after the Cougars' onside kick,
The Cougars' defense stopped the Foxes at the six-yard line on fourth down, highlighted by a pass break by Carter Vant Hoff in the end zone.
Defensive lineman Keegan Sabish made a three-yard tackle for loss to force a three-and-out on the Foxes' next offensive possession.
Carter Gellings scored a one-yard rushing touchdown with 19 seconds left in the first quarter to give Campbellsport a 7-0 lead.
Campbellsport’s defense stopped Omro again on fourth down when Cullan Flasch broke up a pass on fourth down, giving the Cougars the ball back at their own 34-yard line.
Omro intercepted a Campbellsport pass two plays later, but the Cougars' defense continued to control the Foxes' offense by stopping them on fourth down at the Campbellsport 32-yard line.
The Cougars got an explosive play as Sawyer Galligan (118 rushing yards) burst through the Omro defense and sprinted into the fall night for a 65-yard touchdown, energizing the homecoming crowd, pushing the Campbellsport lead to 14-0 with 3:32 remaining in the half.
Gellings (196 rushing yards) took over the offense when he busted through the Omro defense for a 35-yard gain, then capped off the drive with a 15-yard rushing touchdown with 49 seconds left in the half, increasing their lead to 21-0.
Dalton Thull and Braden Ebert combined on a five-yard sack on the next Omro drive to force a punt.
Omro had a bad snap on the punt, with the Cougars getting the ball back at the Omro 18-yard line with 11 seconds left in the second quarter.
Flasch was pushed out of bounds after a 17-yard run, with the officials ruling that time had run out with Campbellsport up 21-0 at halftime.
Campbellsport scored on the first drive of the second half when Gellings scored his third touchdown of the game on a five-yard touchdown at the 7:38 mark in the third quarter, giving the Cougars a 28-0 lead.
Flasch continued to make plays with an interception ending the next Omro drive at the Cougars' 31-yard line.
The Cougars drove 95 yards on their final touchdown drive, highlighted by a Gellings 32-yard run and finished off by a two-yard touchdown from Chris Taddey, putting the score at 35-0 with 3:05 left in the game.
