Nancy Lee Hovland, born Nancy Lee Schwobe on March 1, 1950, she passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments. Nancy, lovingly known as “Nurse Nancy,” dedicated over 30 years of her life as a Registered Nurse, making a profound impact on the lives of many. Her selflessness and compassionate nature were evident in her work, always prioritizing the care of others above her own needs. Before retiring, she worked as a Public Health Nurse for Fond du Lac County.Throughout her lifetime, Nancy faced and conquered numerous health challenges, demonstrating her resilience and determination to be with her family. Despite these obstacles, she remained a kind, loving, and strong-willed woman with a heart of gold. Nancy’s unwavering love for her family was evident in everything she did.Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, James Hovland; and her children, Beth and Carrie Hovland. She was also a loving grandmother to Matthew Hovland. Nancy will be dearly missed by her three brothers, Tom (Judy) Schwobe, Steve (Carole) Schwobe, Scott (Darlene) Schwobe; and her sister, Brenda (Richard) Ludwig, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Schwobe and Betty Lou (Burg) Schwobe.Outside her career, Nancy had a passion for collecting antiques and enjoyed going on family vacations. She cherished spending time with her siblings, often going on outings to the casinos together. These shared experiences created precious memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.A memorial service to honor Nancy’s life will be held Saturday, October 14, at Peace United Church of Christ. The church is located at 343 1st St., Kewaskum, WI 53040. The service will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch at 12:30 p.m. In memory of Nancy, please bring a dish to pass and join the family in celebrating her life.Nancy’s legacy as a dedicated nurse, loving family member, and resilient fighter will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
