5 Years Ago February 9, 2017 The Campbellsport High School Dance Team came back to town as State Champions again this year. They competed in La Crosse on February 4. The State Championship was in D2 hip hop, but the team also placed third in D4 poms. An impromptu parade along Main Street was held the following day. Jane Claire Miller


Jane Claire (Kraemer) Miller of West Bend, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 after a long struggle with various health complications. She was born in Fond du Lac on November 2, 1943, along with her twin brother, John, to Henry and Anita (Streubing) Kraemer of Campbellsport. She attended St. Matthew’s Catholic School, Campbellsport High School and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in dental hy -giene. On August 24, 1968, she was united in marriage to Richard Otto Miller.She was a respected and well-liked dental hygienist in West Bend for 35 years and really enjoyed her patients. Jane's hobbies included music, reading, knitting, shopping, the theater, baseball, going out to dinner with friends and traveling around the United States. She was known for her fondness and compassion for animals and had a pet for most of her life since she was a teenager. Her high school quote from her classmates was “Beauty is Wit and Wisdom Combined” and she will be remembered for her smile, laugh and kindness to others.She is missed and survived by her husband, Richard; her children: Mary-Claire Miller currently of West Bend, Jeffrey Miller of Sheboygan, and Kyle Miller of Kewaskum; grandchildren: Drew and Paige Miller of Kewaskum; siblings, Kathryn (Harold) Mueller of Kewaskum, Karen (James) Twohig of Al buquerque, New Mexico, and John (Carol) Kraemer of Chippewa Falls; and her ever loyal and protective dog, Baxter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many longtime friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; her sweet yorkie, Sadie; and her most recent cats, Sophie and Maddie.A celebration of her life will be held later in the spring due to the present conditions and information will be provided once arrangements are made.Twohig Funeral Home is serving the family with online condolences and guestbook at www.twohigfunerals.com.

James “Derby” Michael Rinas, 74, passed away unexpectedly with his loved ones by his side on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. He was born on March 23, 1947, in Milwaukee, the son of Erwin P. and Elsie M. (nee Kraker) Rinas. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1966 to 1968. On June 12, 1984, Derby married Janis Jean Karoses in West Bend.He owned various restaurants, including Brown Derby on Big Cedar Lake, Brown Jug in West Bend, Barrel Haus in Kewaskum and C.C. Cody’s in Campbellsport, before retiring.As a proud Marine Veteran, Derby enjoyed spending time collecting military memorabilia and adding to his watch and bracelet collections. When he wasn’t being an avid collector, he liked mowing his lawn and finding new paint projects. He would relax by looking at Harleys, reminiscing about the days he rode with his friends, watching his Raiders and Brewers while cuddling with his fur-babies, Symba, Nala, Kona Bear and Ting. He also loved tinkering in his garage, feeding his birds and barn kitties, attending concerts, ballgames, The State Fair and dining at his favorite Italian and Greek restaurants. Most of all, Derby loved spending time with his family. Derby was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by everyone.Derby is survived by his beloved wife, Janis; children, Chad Rinas, Casey (Tommy) Weber and Cody Rinas; sisters, Linda (George) Goetz and Jeanne Sawatzki; sisters-in-law, Judy Volesky, Susan Karoses and Jane Weinfurter; brothers-in-law, Jeff Karoses, Jay Karoses, Terry Mielke and Jim Volesky; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.Preceding Derby in death were his parents; in-laws, Joseph and Bernice Karoses; his Special Aunty Agnes; brothers-in-law, Joe Pat Karoses and Jack Karoses.Visitation for Derby will be Sunday, February 13, beginning with Military Honors at 1 p.m. continuing until 6 p.m. and conclude with a service at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W.
