Gordon “Gordy” G. Immel, 83, of the Town of Forest went to his heavenly home on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary. He was born on March 12, 1939, in Fond du Lac, the son of Walter and Dora (Becker) Immel. Gordy served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and was stationed in France. On September 11, 1965, Gordy married Carolyn D. Engel at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dotyville.

They farmed in the Town of Forest and he was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Forest. He was an avid fan of the Brewers, NASCAR, Badgers and Packers and was a longtime Packer season ticket holder. Gordy enjoyed going to Vegas, playing cards with family and friends, and checking the crops. He loved being a farmer most of all. He was still active in planting and harvesting the crops on the family farm until his health deteriorated last year. Gordy loved to work and was very proud of his family, to be a veteran and to be called a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; children, Todd (Jill) Immel, Jackie (Joe) Welsh, Ted Immel, Tim (Cindy) Immel and Jodi (Scott) Kuhnke; grandchildren, Crystal (Jeremiah), Alyssa, Nicki (Tyler), Paige (DJ) Cassie, Marissa and Travis; great-grandchildren, David, Alexzander, Brooklyn, Rylleigh, Lilly, Clyde and Eleanor. Gordy is further survived by step-grandchildren, Liz (Scott), Nate (Sam), and Ryan (Alexis); step-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Madison, Kailey, Jaxson and Brantley; and siblings and in-laws, Delores Mielke, Marge and Jerry Geiger, Vernon and Lila Immel, Lyle and Barbara Immel, Verna Immel, Roger and Gloria Engel, John Engel and Susie Bowe.

Gordy was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Trevor Shaw; in-laws, Alfred and Dorothy Engel; siblings and in-laws, Mildred and George Keys, Raymond and Charlotte Immel, Fred Mielke, Myron and Susan Immel, Harlan Immel, Bill and Marianne Timblin, Allan and Sheila Engel, Mona Engel and Barbara Engel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 2090 Hwy 23, Mount Calvary, with Rev. Mark Barenz officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services and inurnment will be in Forest Cemetery at a later date.

There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mount Calvary EMS or SSM Hospice.

Gordy’s family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Villa Loretto and SSM Hospice for their compassionate care.
