Joy Ann Bartell (nee Schmidt) passed peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 86 at Froedert Hospital, Milwaukee.
She was born in Marshfield, the daughter of the late Ewald C. and Mae S. (nee Nauertz) Schmidt.
Joy worked at Briggs & Stratton Corporation for more than 30 years as a production worker in Milwaukee.
After retirement, Joy spent many happy years in Florida soaking up the sunshine. She also enjoyed seeing new places and traveling. After she moved back to Wisconsin, she enjoyed her flower gardens and participating in cards and Red Hats at Cedar Communities in West Bend where she lived. She enjoyed spending time with family and will be remembered for always sending out cards for all occasions.
Joy is survived by her children, Randall (Cynthia) and Gregg (Roviena); grandchildren, Ashlea (Kevin) Wleklinski, Timothy (Cassondra) Woodley, Kathryn (Cal) Lautenbach, Michael Woodley, Kegan (Special- Friend Jamie); great-grandchild, Grace Lautenbach; daughter-in-law, Linda Bartell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael Bartell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with an 11 a.m. Funeral Service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Rd. Slinger, WI 53086. Burial follows at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.
