Elaine E. Steger, 92, of Kewaskum went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at Serenity Villa in Campbellsport with her beloved family gathered with her.
She was born in Brownsville on December 18, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (nee Hunke) Eggers.
On September 12, 1959, Elaine was united in marriage to Donald M. Steger at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels.
Elaine worked at Regal Ware in Kewaskum for 26 years before retiring.
She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and feeding the birds. She and Don also enjoyed playing bingo and their casino trips, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elaine always remembered their birthdays with special gifts always increasing as they got older.
Those left behind to cherish Elaine’s memory include her husband of 65 years, Don; sons, Mark Steger and Jeff (Brenda) Steger; grandchildren, Joshua (Jerad) Steger, Joe Steger, Jordan (Jamie) Steger, and Kayla (fiancé Levi) Steger; sisters, Josephine Priepke, Grace Clark, and Arlene Wiese; brother, James (Gloria) Eggers; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie; daughter-in-law, Annette Flasch-Steger; siblings, Joseph Eggers, Jr., Anna Wells, Pauline Ronning, infant brother, Michael Eggers, Patricia Moses, Terrance Eggers, David Eggers, Gladys Gotautis, Joyce Schlefke, Kathy Zentner, Mary Hilbert, and infant sister, Christine Eggers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michaels (8883 Forestview Road, Kewaskum). Rev. Mark Jones officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 24, from 12 p.m. until time of Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
