Donald J. Fechter Sr.

   Donald J. Fechter Sr. of St. Kilian passed away on February 28, 2025 at Kathy Hospice with his loving family by his side.    Don was born in the family home in the Town of Trenton on March 25, 1941. Son of the late Paul Sr. and Martha Fechter (Kultgen).
   Don married Shirley Buechler on October 26, 1963 at St. Francis Borgia Church in Cedarburg, WI. He worked at Pioneer Container in Cedarburg for 2 years and Mercury Marine for 42 ½ years. Don and Shirley moved to the St. Kilian area where they built their dream home in 1997. Don enjoyed bowling, playing cards, golfing, gardening, riding his John Deere, watching wildlife and beautiful sunsets, cutting fire wood, camping and traveling the country. He loved watching sports, and attending his children and grandchildren's events, but most importantly spending time with loved ones. "THAT'S RIGHT!"- Don
   Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Shirley of 61 years; children, Donald Jr. (Deb) Fechter, Tim (Tracie) Fechter, Nancy (Mark) Schlosser, Steve (Tina) Fechter, Sallyanne (Matt) Spaeth, Todd (Tori) Fechter; 14 grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Karnitz, Katelyn (Chris) Ludwig, Baylee (Johnny) Nitafan, Sam Schlosser, Brett Fechter, Jacob Schlosser, Brandon Fechter, Molly Spaeth, Morgan Krause, Megan Spaeth, Zach Fechter, Grace Fechter, Maci Spaeth, Sophia Fechter and seven great-grandchildren, Madelyn Karnitz, Marley Ludwig, Scarlett Ludwig, Chloe Ludwig, Leila Karnitz, Mason Karnitz, and Emma Ludwig. He is also survived by his brother, Paul (Eva) Fechter; sister-in-law, Karen Fechter; sister-in-law, Bev (Dick) Beyer; brother-in-law, Ronald (Pat) Buechler; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Wayne) Gierach; and many other relatives and dear friends.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Martha (Kultgen) Fechter; father-in-law, Arthur Buechler and mother-in-law, Virigina (Anzia) Buechler; sister, Rita Fechter; brothers, Clement Fechter and John Fechter Sr; sister-in-law, Judy Schoenfeldt; brother-in-law, Dick Schoenfeldt; nephew, John Fechter Jr.; niece, Carol Butler; and other relatives and friends.
   Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, from 3 to 5:30 pm at St. Kilian Chapel, N189 County Rd W, Campbellsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation with Rev. Tom Biersack officiating and Rev. Neil Zinthefer co-celebrating. A private burial will take place at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
   The family would like to thank his special caregiver Kim, and the caring nurses and staff at Kathy Hospice for their love, care and compassion shown to our family.
