Campbellsport Elementary School (CES) students have an exciting new addition to their gymnasium, thanks to the generosity of the CES PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) and National Exchange Bank Foundation, Inc. Through their support, the school has installed a traverse rock wall, giving students a fun and engaging way to build strength, confidence, and teamwork.
Unlike traditional climbing walls, this traverse wall allows students to climb horizontally rather than vertically, keeping them just three feet off the ground while still providing a full-body workout. Beyond physical fitness, rock climbing promotes problem-solving, coordination, and balance, making it a valuable tool for students of all ages and abilities.
Physical education classes will use the rock wall regularly, but its benefits extend far beyond the gym. Teachers across different subjects can incorporate it into lessons that encourage teamwork, strategy, and even cross-curricular learning. Additionally, it serves as a valuable resource for students with special needs or those recovering from injuries, providing a safe and supportive space for movement and engagement.
To celebrate this exciting addition, Mr. Buechel and Campbellsport Elementary invite the community to see the rock wall in action during Celebrate CES Night on March 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the CES PTO for making this possible. Their commitment to our students continues to make a lasting impact!
