Dorthy Mae Weber


Dorthy Mae (Rudolph) Weber passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021. Dorthy was born in West Bend on March 2, 1934, the daughter of Arline (Benike) and Gerhard Rudolph. She attended and graduated from St. Stephen Lutheran School, Horicon High School class of 1951, Dodge County Teachers College and UW-Oshkosh. Dorthy married the love of her life, John Weber, on June 19, 1954, and spent many happy years together raising their son Mike. She enthusiastically devoted her life to teaching little ones, and taught in Dodge County Rural schools and then in Horicon Public Schools until her retirement in 1996. Dorthy loved her students, and enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and freezing vegetables from husband John’s garden. She liked to read, attend Bible classes, volunteer, travel, and attend theater productions. Training her Golden Retriever dogs was her passion. Dorthy is survived by her son, Michael (Barbara) Weber; granddaughter, Rebecca (Maciej) Weber-Ciupa; grandson, Ryan (Rakela) Weber; brother, Wayne “Hooks” (Shirley) Werner; sister-in-law, Debra Werner (Wes) Lindert; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; mother and step-father, Arline and Ray Werner; beloved grandparents, Hank and Jennie Benike; brothers, David and Ray Werner; sister in-laws, Nancy and May Werner; in-laws, Delia and William Weber, Elizabeth (Richard) Schwarze, Margaret (Willard) Bartelt; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Delores Weber; nieces, Wynn Irish, Wendy Werner Hubbard and Gail Weber. A private family funeral service will take place at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer presiding. The interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 505 North Palmatory, Horicon, WI 53032. Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon is serving the family. Curtis R. Mueller


Curtis R. Mueller, 76, of Hustisford passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at his home. A funeral service for Curtis will be held on Thursday, September 9, at 3 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford with Rev. Jonathan Loescher officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of the service at 3 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place at Hustisford Cemetery at a later date. Curtis was born the son of Raymond and Ruth (Schmidt) Mueller on November 2, 1944. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Unertl on June 5, 1965 at St. Mary’s in Woodland. Curtis had been in the construction industry his whole life. He worked for several contractors and was a proud and active member and retiree of Operating Engineers Union Local 139. He was a founding member of RAT (Restored Antique Tractor) Club and was also a member of the Dodge County Antique Power Club. He loved his Massey Harris tractors but was not color blind to other makes. He owned several of everything except for the green ones. Curtis enjoyed plowing, using many of his vintage tractors. He enjoyed being in parades or any arena to showcase them. He loved including his family in the festivities who shared the same passion. Family was everything to Curtis and loved the time spent with them at the farm. He enjoyed gathering with his buddies for coffee at Joanie’s in the morning or a happy hour at the Bowling Alley or Lone Pine. Curtis also loved traveling with his wife and staying in Texas at the South Padre Islands during the winter or driving to Canada to look at a tractor or two. He loved to travel to New York to visit relatives. Curtis was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford and lifelong member of the community. He will be deeply missed. Curtis is survived by his wife of 57 years- Carolyn of Hustisford. His children- Kirk (Audra) Mueller of Hustisford and Stacey (Rob Pasbrig) Snyder of Theresa. His grandchildren- Mike (Madilyn) Mueller, Chalyn Mueller, Jordyn (Dan) Mueller, Taylor Snyder, and Adam Snyder. His great grandchildren- Karter, Ethyn, Savannah, Owyn, Kane, and Kody. His siblings- Mary Lee (Allen) Petersen of Ashippun and Dean (Roxy) Mueller of Hustisford. His sisters and brothers in law-Bob (Susie) Unertl, Jerri Frank, Joan (Gary) Boser, Dan (Marion) Unertl, Steve (Donna) Unertl, Stan (Monica) Unertl, Ginny (Ralph) McMullen, Cliff (Debbie) Unertl, and Scott (Julie) Unertl. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Special thanks to the R.A.T. Florence M. Plageman

Florence M. Plageman


Florence M. Plageman passed away peacefully on September 2, 2021, at Living Tree Estates Assisted Living in Greenville at the age of 97. Florence was born on January 13, 1924, in the Town of Ashford to Ervin and Margaret (Heisler) Bonlender. She married Donald H. Plageman on July 14, 1971, and spent many happy years with Don until he passed away in 2007. Florence went to school and was certified as a beautician and operated her own shop in Theresa for many years. She often spoke of how much she loved the relationship she built with her many friends and clients. After she sold the salon, she worked as a nurses aid at Hope Nursing Home and Cedar Lake Nursing Home. She also talked about how much she cared for the residents and co-workers. After moving to Horicon,I she worked as a beautician and CNA at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau until she retired in 1986. Florence and Don enjoyed traveling with the John Deere Retired Spitfires to Germany, Ireland, Hawaii, Canada, Alaska and throughout the USA. She loved taking bus trips and made many friends traveled to area casinos and also loved playing sheepshead. She was a member of the Mayville Senior Center and St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Florence is survived by one brother, Joseph (Louise) Bonlender; one brother-in-law, Karl Ryan; one sister-in-law, Doris Bonlender; and many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her birth daughter, Kay (Jim) Zimanek and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Margaret (Andy) Bonlender, Fern Ryan; brothers, Leo Bonlender, Ervin (Betty) Bonlender, Harold (Eileen) Bonlender, Robert Bonlender; a niece and several nephews. Special thanks to the care team members of Living Tree Estates and Moments Hospice. Memorials can be given to Moments Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial for Florence was held at St Mary Catholic Church in Mayville on Tuesday, Sept. 7, with visitation at 11 a.m. and Mass at noon with Father Tom Biersack as celebrant. Florence was laid to rest immediately following the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon. Koepsell Funeral Services in Mayville handled the arrangements.

Edward Wolter, 84, of Mayville passed away on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville. Ed was born the son of Reinhardt Sr. and Julia Ann (Wasco) Wolter on March 20, 1937. He was a graduate of Mayville High School. Ed was united in marriage to Rosa L. Gray on April 28, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon. Ed had worked for various local manufacturing companies, retiring from Metalcraft of Mayville. In his spare time, he loved the outdoors while fishing, hunting, shooting trap, or spending time on the Horicon Marsh. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing hockey and softball. Family was most important to Ed and he cherished the time spend with them. Ed will be deeply missed by his sons, Terry (Jody Schroeder) Wolter and Todd (Debra) Wolter of Mayville; his grandchildren, Jason (Melissa), Jessie (Sara), Josey (Sarah) Schroeder, Jeremy Wolter, and Courtney Wolter; his great-grandchildren, Morgan and Molly; his sister, Beverly Geschke of Fond du Lac; his brother, Stanley (Sharon) Wolter of Mayville; sister-in-law, Nancy Graf of Theresa. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosa; his sisters, Delores Mae Krueger and Elizabeth Gierke; brother, Reinhardt Wolter, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Edward Graf. A visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 13, from11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. A funeral service for Ed will take place on Monday, Sept. 13, at 12 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with the Rev. Rich Collier officiating. Inurnment will be held at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac. Masks would be appreciated.
